STEALTH provides students with academic support and enrichment through engaging, hands-on activities in one-on-one and small group settings.
Afterschool is proven to improve behavior, increase achievement and create a sense of
belonging for participating students. These experiences are critical to supporting the
education of the whole child.
STEALTH Offers
- Focused academic support and tutoring in small group or one-on-one settings.
- Fun, engaging, hands-on enrichment activities that bring learning to life!
- Community partners who genuinely care about your student - providing unique experiences and mentorship during the outof-school time setting.
- A healthy snack provided by the Afterschool Care Snack Program at no cost to the student.
- A safe, enriching and inclusive environment for students to thrive - provided at no cost to families.
The purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant program is to establish community learning centers that provide students with academic enrichment opportunities along with activities designed to supplement the students' regular classroom academic programs during out-of-school hours. STEALTH is funded by this Title IV grant, which is awarded for five year periods.

Middle School
ASP - After School Program
After School Program (ASP) happens Monday-Thursday from 3:20-5 p.m.
Fall dates: Sept. 15-Dec. 19
Spring dates: Jan. 12-May 15
The Middle School After School Program, or ASP, is sponsored by the YMCA and is FREE for all Gordon Parks Academy middle school students who have a permssion slip turned in.
Parents/guardians may enroll their student in ASP by enrolling online during the enrollment process, picking up an application in main office, or online on the YMCA website.
A completed application must be on file in order for students to participate.
Students involved in ASP are engaged in activities supervised by Gordon Parks staff Monday through Thursday from 3:20-5 p.m. An afternoon snack is provided for participants, and there are two late buses with availability to certain drop-off locations. If your student is not riding a late bus, parents must pick up their students by 5 p.m. Late pick-ups are not allowed.
ASP activities include, but are not limited to:
- Clubs
- Tutoring
- Computers/Technology
- YMCA sponsored field trips/events
- Intramural sports
- Special presentations
