Hello-I attended the Gordon Parks Exhibit at WSU Saturday and met a very impressive young man named "Michael". I did not write down his last name, but he served as a subject matter expert on a few of the photos. In talking with him he mentioned he would like to be a Mayor one day. I arranged for our Mayor-Carl Brewer to meet Michael. We took a photo of the two, and I hope you are able to forward and print this for Michael. He did a fantastic job, and it isn't very often you meet a young person who wants to be Mayor, they all seem to want to be Justin Timberlake! Thanks for your help in getting this to Michael, he was pretty taken with the whole experience.

Congratulations to BOB Winners!
Patience Barkus, Jai Knox, Atlantis Mitchell and Kwesha Palmer received FIRST place at the Battle of the Books competition on January 21. The girls had to read a list of 64 books, answer questions about the books and make up a skit for one book! Super job, Trailblazers!
Community Service Project
Middle School students are beginning community service clubs over the lunch recess. One of the projects that they will be doing is knitting hats that will be given to cancer survivors, premies, etc. If you have any yarn that you can donate to this effort, please drop it by room 127. We also need circle looms.
Send your "Bet-You-Didn't-Know" to us. It must be something positive about any GPA staff, parent or student (examples, football, gymnastics, outside awards, etc.)
