A Valentine Wish from Mr. Deffenbaugh's Fifth Graders - As part of a poetry unit I’ve been teaching my class…we wrote a poem together today. I thought you would enjoy the end result so I have attached it for you. ALL lines are student generated except for the first one, which I gave to set an example. - Mr. Deffenbaugh
Love is a warm hug on a cold day.
Love is the marshmallows in your hot chocolate.
Love is a kiss at just the right moment.
Love is someone you can never forget.
Love is an endless relationship.
Love is the key to your heart.
Love is a beautiful sight.
Love is your family.
Love is priceless.
Love is the thermostat of your heart.
Love is happiness in your soul.
Love is a doorway to freedom.
Love is the peace that brings us together.
Love is a dream come true.
Love is what we wish for you… Happy Valentine’s Day

Hello-I attended the Gordon Parks Exhibit at WSU Saturday and met a very impressive young man named "Michael". I did not write down his last name, but he served as a subject matter expert on a few of the photos. In talking with him he mentioned he would like to be a Mayor one day. I arranged for our Mayor-Carl Brewer to meet Michael. We took a photo of the two, and I hope you are able to forward and print this for Michael. He did a fantastic job, and it isn't very often you meet a young person who wants to be Mayor, they all seem to want to be Justin Timberlake! Thanks for your help in getting this to Michael, he was pretty taken with the whole experience.
